the simplicity of this pâte de foute vase highlights the pure beauty of the material. While the three chrysanthemums form a frieze around the top of the vase, the three stems create an almost abstract rhythm on the bottom half of the vase. All the color and painterliness is on the top half while the graphic linear black and white drawing can be found on the bottom half.
