Celtic angel

Bronze vase by Hugo Elmqvist from Stockholm. The shape of this vase is typical of his art, which was inspired by Japanese bronze vases. The decoration in this case is different. His vases are usually decorated with insects and leaves in low relief. However, just like here, he always leaves a large surface of the vase "bare" with only his fingerprint and patina. It is unusual that the vase here is decorated with two secession angels with a wreath of flowers in their hair and Scandinavian-Celtic motifs.
